A ferry happy engagement :)

Suffolk Wedding Photographer

Another day at the beach (hard day at the office!) this time, at Felixstowe where our Bride to be, Ali's Mum and Dad live. It's just under 3 weeks now until Ali and Matt's plans come together at the Beautiful Easton Grange. We took some time pre-shoot at The Ferry Cafe to grab tea and a cake and catch up with this great couple. There's a fabulous boat yard here which really feels like something from yesteryear and made for a timeless and interesting backdrop to our shoot. Ali and Matt (despite any doubts they may have) turned out to be absolute naturals and we all had fun despite the chilly breeze.

We really wanted to get to know Ali and Matt a little better, so we asked them a few questions :) When we read their answers, we realised how head over heels in love in they are.

Tell us about your proposal!

Matt whisked me away to New York for a Birthday treat in January this year. On our first night there we went out for a meal at a quaint French restaurant and ended the night with a walk through a snowy central park where Matt proposed in a lantern-lit strawberry fields which overlooked the sparkling lights of New York city. We then spent the week celebrating!

How did you both meet?

We were lucky enough to meet through friends from work whilst both living in London, however, our relationship didn't bloom until 18 months later.

Why did you decide to have an engagement shoot?

We thought it would be a great way to get to know you both better and get used to posing in front of the camera! We also thought the photos would be a great way to remember the previous eleven months as an 'engaged couple'.

Ali, you knew it was love when...

I moved in and we spent the week celebrating in the romantic city of Rome

Matt, you knew it was love when...

we had a date at Kings Cross and I felt a love for her that I knew I never wanted to let go.

What is your favourite photo from the session and why? :)

There are three that we just can't choose between. You have captured how we feel about each other in a photograph and I love how in love and happy we are at this moment.

Why did you pick your wedding venue?

This is the area Ali grew up in and where her family live. The Church we are getting married in is where Ali's Mum and Dad got married and 29 years later they are still growing strong! The Church is also in Ali's hometown in Felixstowe (where we did the engagement shoot photos) and the reception venue in a Beautiful part of Suffolk in Woodbridge which has a very rustic feel to it which we just fell in love with as soon as we saw it.

What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?

Saying our vows in front of our loved ones, spending the day celebrating the start of our married life together and, of course, the pictures which we will cherish in years to come!

We don't tend to push engagement shoots since it's not everybody's cup of tea. But we really feel it can make a great and positive difference to our interactions with clients and we genuinely can't wait to catch up with these guys soon to make some more brilliant pictures.
