We really do like to be beside the seaside...

Last Sunday, we met up near the sea, with Emily and Will whose wedding we're covering in August this year. We chatted over Tea whilst watching the sail boats go by and then wandered around Felixstowe taking pictures of the cutest couple for their engagement shoot. We were reminded of why we like Will and Emily so much - they really do make us laugh! The afternoon was perfect from start to end, these two couldn't stop smiling and neither could we.

How did you both meet?

We met in the crowd at the Wanted concert at Newmarket Racecourse in July 2011, however it took a while to make it official and after lots of dates and trips to Bournemouth we made it official in May 2012.

Tell us about your proposal!

Will proposed on 10th June 2016 at Durdle Door in Dorset. Having been on a few day trips to this part of the coast, including one of our first official dates, the area is a very special to us both. The 10th of June started as a very stressful day. We planned to leave Suffolk at 9.00am and failed, I had not made the picnic that I promised and we got stuck in a lot of traffic jams!!! After all this Will insisted that we go to Durdle Door on the Friday evening. After scrambling around to find change for the parking meter I made sure that we stayed the full 4 hours. I was so surprised when we got to the bottom of the steep slope and Wills got down on one knee, I never suspected a thing. We enjoyed the rest of our weekend in Bournemouth and celebrated with lots of Champagne.

We knew it was love when....

It has taken me a while to get a serious answer from Will so hopefully this will be alright!! Will knew he loved me when I went back to Bournemouth and he missed me. He started to send me flowers in the post and then went on a two week holiday,  and we didn't talk that much and this is when I knew I loved him. After this point we visited each other frequently in Bournemouth, London and Suffolk and we have made so many happy memories.

Why did you pick your wedding venue?

We were trying to find a venue with summer availability with less than 1 years notice. After a few unsuccessful site visits to some different venues we were driving past Euston Hall so I made a phone call when we got home and found out that they do a few weddings each year. They had a range of dates available so once we looked around we thought the walled garden would be the perfect place to host our big day. We now have everything crossed in hope for good weather on the day.

What are your favourite photo's from the session and why?

(Pictures below)
Left - Emily loves this one because it was one of the first photos and we both look so happy.
Top middle - Will loves this one because his hair looks good!
Bottom Middle - We love this one because it really shows how much 'Him and Her' love their jobs. When this photo was taken a wave actually soaked Neils feet and legs, hence the natural laughter.
Right - It is the first photo that we saw and we loved it. We have also had lots of lovely comments about this one from friends and family.

What are you most looking forward to on your wedding day?

We are really looking forward to the entire day and having a great time celebrating with family and friends. However first it is the 'stag do'. We also have a surprise honeymoon that has been booked by family members so we cant wait to find out more details regarding this.

Him & Her Wedding Photography

We’re Neil & Lisa and we LOVE weddings; the activity, the settings and the people who come together for a special day. As a couple we’re able to offer our own perspectives on the wedding, with a feel for the Bride and Grooms roles and to ensure that we’re always in the right place to catch the big moments (we don’t spoil your day by feeling ‘in the way’.)  For us, being a part of your special day, catching the emotions and happiness gives us both real satisfaction and we think this shines through in our images.

We hope you enjoy our site and can find the things you need to make a decision about your photographers for the wedding day. If there's something you don't see or do need to talk about please do get in contact either by telephone or by using our enquiry form (both) on the contact page. We're looking forward to hearing from you soon.
